Behaviour Zen aims to provide an effective path for transforming the lives of children, adolescents and young adults with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Behaviour Zen resources include the Behaviour Zen web-based app, Behaviour Zen YouTube channel videos and Behaviour Zen booklet series.
Behaviour Zen resources are useful for individuals with emotional and behavioural difficulties who have been diagnosed with one or more of the following conditions: Anxiety Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
Behaviour Zen resources can be used by parents, teachers, support staff and professionals (e.g. psychiatrist, psychologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech pathologist, social worker, supervisors, coordinators and managers). As no one person or professional has all the answers or the expertise, a team approach to support the individual with behavioural and emotional difficulties is recommended.
Behaviour Zen resources can be used for managing emotional and behavioural difficulties in family homes, early childhood programs, primary and secondary school programs, respite and accommodation programs, employment programs, and community day programs.
The Behaviour Zen resources are built on the evidence-based approach of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). PBS recognises that emotional and behavioural difficulties do not happen in a vacuum, but are a product of the interaction between the:
By addressing the interaction/s, behaviour change can be achieved.
Behaviour Zen empowers people supporting the individual day in and day out with a comprehensive range of practical strategies that can be used to guide the individual to learn and develop positive ways of behaving and managing their emotions.
Data collection strategies described in the Behaviour Zen resources will help you track the individual’s progress.
The web based app will collate a summary of the assessment, management and prevention plan. You can then print it out for your own records and/or email it to other people supporting the individual.
