When one student begins to present challenging behaviours in a classroom, the climate of the classroom can change dramatically. Often, a considerable amount of time and energy can be spent on the student with the challenging behaviours, which can have a deleterious effect on the quality of the educational experience for all students. Research consistently shows that managing student behaviour is linked to teachers experiencing high levels of stress, burnout, job dissatisfaction and attrition. While there is a wealth of information available aboutbehaviour management, it can be daunting knowing where and how to start.
